The short version
Anonymous
Your name stays off it
Other members and the man you post about never see who posted. Clairitea knows, and shares it only if the law makes us.
Report
Report and block
Every post, comment, photo and screenshot has Report. Threats, private info and anything about a minor get hidden right away while a person looks.
Money
Nothing is removed for money
Paying never changes what stays up. Anyone offering to delete a post for cash is not us. Tell safety@clairitea.com.
Photos
Photos, cleaned
Location and other metadata come off every photo and screenshot before it’s stored.
1If you are in danger
If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
If you are thinking about hurting yourself, or you are worried about someone who is, call or text 988 (the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, 24/7, free, confidential). You can also chat at 988lifeline.org.
Clairitea is not an emergency service and cannot send help. Nothing in the app replaces the police, a crisis line or a doctor.
2Blocking and reporting
Every post, comment, photo and screenshot has Report, and you can Block anyone whose activity you do not want to see. Reports go to our team, and the person reported is never told who reported them. Blocking hides someone's activity from you and yours from them.
Reports of threats, private information, content about someone under 18 and intimate images hide the item right away while we review it. We aim to review other reports within 24 hours. The Community Guidelines list every report reason and what happens.
If a post describes a crime against you or someone you know, you can also report it to the police. We respond to lawful requests from law enforcement as described in our Law Enforcement Guidelines.
3If a post is about you
You do not need a Clairitea account.
- Open your page on clairitea.com and use the "A post about you?" form, or use the same form at clairitea.com/support. You can also email safety@clairitea.com with a link to the page.
- Tell us which post, and whether it is not true, not you, shares private information, is harassment, or something else.
- We send you a link to confirm your email address. Once you confirm, we aim to review your request within 48 hours and we email you the outcome.
What we do: we review the post against our House Rules. We remove content that breaks them, including private information, threats, harassment, sexual content, content about the wrong person and content about someone under 18. A post that follows our rules may stay up, because it is another person's account of their own experience. We may contact you if we need more information.
If you use Clairitea, you can also report the post in the app with This is me or This isn't true.
4Intimate images: the 48-hour removal process
If a post, comment, photo or screenshot on Clairitea shows an intimate image of you that was shared without your consent, including an image that has been edited, faked or generated with AI, we will remove it within 48 hours of receiving a valid request, as the federal TAKE IT DOWN Act requires. You do not need an account.
In the app: report the item with Intimate image of me. It is hidden from everyone right away.
Without the app: email safety@clairitea.com with the subject line "Intimate image removal" and include:
- your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is enough);
- a link to the page, and enough detail for us to find the image, such as which post it is in;
- a brief statement that you believe in good faith that the image is of you and was shared without your consent, with any information that helps us assess it; and
- how we can contact you.
If you are making the request for someone else, tell us your authority to act for them.
When we remove an intimate image, we also make reasonable efforts to find and remove identical copies on Clairitea, and we record the image's fingerprint so the same image cannot be uploaded again. We also act against the account that posted it, up to a permanent ban.
If the person in the image is under 18, also report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678. You can also use NCMEC's Take It Down service at takeitdown.ncmec.org. Adults can use StopNCII.org to help stop an image being shared on participating platforms.
5Protecting yourself when you post
- Other users and the person you post about never see who you are. Clairitea does know which account posted, and a court can order us to disclose it. Our Law Enforcement Guidelines explain when we notify you first.
- Details only you would know, such as an exact date or a place, can identify you to him. Leave them out if that matters to you.
- Post only what happened to you, and only what is true. You can be held responsible for what you post.
- Cover up private details in screenshots before you post them.
6Scams and removal offers
Clairitea never removes, hides or changes a post for money, and nobody at Clairitea will ever ask you to pay to have a post reviewed or removed. If anyone offers to remove a post for money, or asks you for money or codes while claiming to be from Clairitea, do not pay, and tell us at safety@clairitea.com.
