The rules, fast

Say what happened, not where he lives.

No addresses, phone numbers or usernames. Yours included.

No nudes, no threats, nothing about anyone under 18.

Straight to suspension, and a person reviews it.

Other members never see who you are.

So don’t reveal anyone else’s identity either.

Never on a page

  • Home or work address
  • Phone number or email
  • Social handles or links
  • Where he’ll be, and when
  • Anything about his kids

Every post is checked for

  • No private info
  • No threats
  • Nothing about minors

Posts our checks flag as accusing someone of a crime, or describing an assault, wait for a person on our team before they go up.

These rules apply to everything you post on Clairitea: posts, questions, comments, replies, ratings, flags, photos and screenshots. They are part of our Terms of Service. The Community Guidelines explain how to follow them well.

1Say what happened to you

  • Post only your own first-hand experience with the person. If you did not see it or live it, do not post it as fact. Do not pass on rumors or what a friend told you ("I heard...").
  • Tell the truth. When you give an opinion, make it clear it is your opinion, and say what happened that led you to it.
  • Do not accuse anyone of a crime, a sexually transmitted infection or specific sexual acts unless it happened to you and it is true. Posts like these are held until a person on our team reviews them.
  • Make sure you have the right person: the right name, city and photo.
  • Questions ("Anyone know him?") are for asking, not accusing. Answer only if you know him yourself.
  • You are responsible for what you post. If a post is false, the person it is about can sue you, and a court can order us to say who you are.

2No private information (no doxxing)

Never post anyone's:

  • phone number or email address;
  • home, street or work address, apartment or unit number, or P.O. box;
  • license plate;
  • Social Security number, bank or card numbers;
  • social media handles or links;
  • family members' names; or
  • where they will be and when (for example, "he's at that gym every Tuesday at 6").

This includes your own. Posts with private information are blocked. Posts that describe where someone will be and when are held for review. Links of any kind are not allowed.

3No minors, ever

  • No pages about anyone under 18.
  • No photos of anyone under 18, and no information about anyone's children.
  • Content that refers to a minor is held or blocked. A page reported as being about someone under 18 is frozen while we review it.
  • We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, as federal law requires.

4No threats, harassment or hate

  • No threats, and no calls for anyone to hurt, confront, contact, follow or expose someone.
  • No harassment: no posting to intimidate, humiliate or take revenge, no piling on, and no telling people to message, call or visit someone.
  • No slurs or attacks on anyone because of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or serious illness.
  • No insults with nothing else. Say what happened.

5No sexual content or intimate images

  • No nudity, sexual images or sexual content.
  • Never post an intimate image of anyone, real, edited, fake or AI-generated, and never threaten to. Sharing one without consent can be a federal and state crime. We remove intimate images within 48 hours of a valid request, block copies from being uploaded again, and ban the account that posted them.
  • If you describe an assault or abuse that happened to you, we hold the post so a person can review it with care. It is not a violation, and it does not count against you.

6Photos and screenshots

  • Upload only photos and screenshots you have the right to share. A photo usually belongs to the person who took it. Copying someone else's photo can be copyright infringement.
  • Photos should show the person the page is about, not other people.
  • Screenshots must be of conversations you were part of. Cover up phone numbers, names of other people, addresses and anything else private before you post.

7Be real

  • One account per person. No fake accounts, no posting for someone else, no new accounts to get around a suspension.
  • No spam, no repeated posts, and no posting the same thing about someone again and again.
  • No coordinated posting or rating campaigns, and no posts or ratings in exchange for money, favors or anything else.
  • Never ask for or accept anything to post, change or remove a post, and never threaten to post unless someone pays or does something.

8Use what you read safely

  • Never use Clairitea to find, follow, contact, confront or harm anyone.
  • Clairitea is not a background check. Never use it to decide on anyone's job, housing, credit, insurance or any other eligibility.
  • What you read is one person's account. It may be wrong, or about someone else with the same name.

9Nothing is removed for money

Clairitea never removes, hides or changes a post because someone paid, and paying for Clairitea never changes how a report, dispute or appeal is handled. Anyone who offers to remove a post for money is not us. Report them to safety@clairitea.com.

10What happens when a rule is broken

Content that breaks these rules is removed, blocked before it goes live, or held until a person reviews it. Breaking a rule can also bring a strike, a warning, a suspension or a permanent ban. Strikes count separately for each type of violation, over a rolling 90 days.

ViolationFirst timeAgain within 90 days
Private informationWarning30-day suspension

Strikes can also reduce how much your ratings count. We may skip steps, including going straight to a permanent ban, for serious violations such as intimate images, sexual content involving a minor, credible threats, extortion or repeated abuse.

11Appeals

If we remove your content or suspend your account and you think we got it wrong, appeal in the app. If you are suspended and cannot sign in, the suspension screen lets you appeal. A person reviews every appeal and tells you the outcome. You can have one open appeal at a time.

12Reporting and blocking

If you see something that breaks these rules, report it. Every post, comment, photo and screenshot has Report. You can also block a user so you no longer see each other's activity. The person you report is never told who reported them. If you are the person a post is about, you can ask us to review it without an account: see the Safety Center.
